CreaGen Changes Lives

Anny Chum, Lab & Administrative Operations

I had worked as a full-time insurance agent for many years when I decided to make a change in my career. I have always loved to help make a difference in people’s lives, but I wanted to pursue my desire in the science field to fill my thirst of creativity and innovation. So, I started attending Biotechnology program at Middlesex Community College and later was introduced to MLSC internship program.

Through the program, I had a rewarding opportunity to intern at CreaGen Biosciences Inc. During the course of the internship, I learned to operate multiple instrumentations and worked closely with scientists and provided them with their lab needs as well as assisted in chemical synthesis. Not only that I got to have hands on experiences in the lab, I participated in their projects and staff meetings and was involved in many parts of the business and its operations.

Another rewarding experience was to take part in CreaGen’s networking events, especially at MassBio, which helped me strengthen my interpersonal and collaboration skills. At the end of my internship, I was offered a full-time position at CreaGen Biosciences Inc. as the Lab and Administrative Operations. Soon after I started working with the residents at CreaGen Life Science Incubator.

I am currently a proud team member of CreaGen Life Science Incubator where we serve and foster startup companies. My day to day responsibility revolves around helping many brilliant scientists to experiment with their proof of concepts and innovations. This whole experience has been an eye opener for me and my career horizon has been broadened immensely.

I greatly appreciate MLSC internship program and CreaGen for cultivating me and giving me this exciting opportunity to be a part of a better tomorrow.
